Nefertiti is one of the most famous queens of ancient Egypt in world history. Her name means "beautiful visitor." She was the principal wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten of the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom and one of the most influential women of the Amarna period making her bust a world-renowned artifact. 6 December 6 1912 during a major archaeological excavation at the site German archaeologists led by Ludwig Borshard discovered the bust in Pharaoh Thutmose's study. Made of limestone and covered with intricately painted stucco it stands 48 centimeters tall. It is believed that the Amarna art was created in 1345 BC by the sculptor Thutmose in Amarna Egypt. There is debate regarding the accuracy of the artistic interpretation of this digital reproduction which differs from the well-known idealized busts depicting a lighter complexion. This includes its current significance and status as a masterpiece of art.

Although Nefertiti suddenly disappears from historical records and played a significant role in the governance and religious reforms alongside Pharaoh Akhetaten the location of her remains has left archaeologists baffled as to the exact location of her "missing tomb and body." Some believe her remains may be hidden in a secret chamber within the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun.

The magnificent Osireion a stone temple is associated with the god Osiris. Inside bas-reliefs depict the resurrection and scenes of Osiris performing rituals before him. This structure symbolizes rebirth and the eternal cycle of life. The interior architecture featuring massive granite columns supporting a stone roof bears a resemblance to Old Kingdom Egyptian architecture. A distinctive feature is the central hall surrounded by a water channel similar to a valley temple enclosed by an underground moat connected to the groundwater level.

Alexander the Great was an ancient Greek king of the Macedonian kingdom conqueror of vast territories stretching from Greece to India. His tomb was originally located in Memphis and later moved to Alexandria. However it may have been submerged underwater or destroyed by earthquakes and tsunamis during the 4th-5th centuries. The disappearance of Alexander the Great's tomb in Egypt is a major mystery what lies within it is a historical and cultural enigma that has attracted worldwide attention due to its connection to the era of Alexander the Great the founder of Alexandria the second-largest city in Egypt on the Mediterranean coast and a historical and cultural center. Excavations at the Casta Hill began in 2014. These sphinxes originally headless when discovered guarded the main entrance to the tomb. Inside numerous chambers were found.

The triad of statues depicts Pharaoh Menkaura of the 4th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Menkaura stands in the center wearing a tall white Egyptian crown hedjet. To his right left in the image the goddess Hathor wearing a crown with bull horns and a sun disc stands to his left right in the image representing a nome. These statues made of graywacke date back to approximately 2,400 BC and are currently on display in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. These statues were discovered hidden beneath the sand in the Menkaura Valley temple on the Giza plateau when a local worker pointed out a shallow pit containing the stone heads of the pharaoh and queen. The discovery included the famous pair of statues of Menkaura and his queen. And three more statues made of graywack stone.

The following details the historical excavations and the famous statues. Between 1908 and 1910 an expedition from Harvard and Boston universities led by archaeologist George Reisner discovered a large group of remarkably well-preserved Old Kingdom statues in the Temple Valley of the Menkaure pyramid complex at Giza.

Pharaoh Menkaura of the Fourth Dynasty is known as the builder and former occupant of the third and smallest of the three pyramids at Giza. His reign was also notable for its artistic talents even early in Egyptian history. Among the Old Kingdom pharaohs only the earlier Pharaoh Chephren and the slightly younger Pharaoh Djoser have large statues surviving. Menkaura has three similar statues believed to be modern gods. It is believed there were eight in total each an Egyptian dwarf. A significant place of worship for Hathor the three statues have carvings discovered in the ruins of the Menkaura Temple in the Valley depicting the goddess seated on a throne.

The excavation uncovered a triad of statues of Pharaoh Menkaura of the 4th Dynasty of ancient Egypt made of graywacke dating to approximately 2,400 BC and currently on display in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

The tomb of Tantamani believed to be the source of the El-Kurru system of Sudanese astronomy is the burial site of the last king of the Kush kingdom and the 25th Dynasty of the Senate. Within the burial chamber are ancient computers and hieroglyphs detailing the journeys of the king of the afterlife. The tomb is located in the village of El-Kurru on the west bank of the Nile north of Napatara. The burial site dates back to 664–653 AD during the reign of Tantamani and includes various deities. The deep underground burial chamber originally had various structures on top today the highly efficient system has collapsed leaving only the base and the underground chamber.

The burial chamber of the tomb of Pharaoh Tanutamani located at the El-Kurru archaeological site in Sudan features frescoes depicting ancient Egyptian gods and scenes of the journey to the afterlife. The tomb is characterized by its vaulted ceiling and vibrantly colored paintings clearly influenced by Egyptian art.

A group of steeply sloping pyramids line the sacred hillside alongside various ancient temples such as the Great Temple of Amun. The pyramids built by Nubian pharaohs from horizontally arranged stone steps such as the Jebel Barkal pyramid in Sudan are also ancient Nubian burial sites constructed by the rulers of the Kingdom of Kush situated next to the sacred hillside approximately 900–270 BC. The Golden Mask of Pharaoh Tutankhamun

Pharaoh Tutankhamun as a revival of traditional polytheism ascended to the throne at approximately 8 or 9 years old and died at around 18 or 19. Widely known as the "Young King" he ruled from approximately 1332 to 1323 BC. Tutankhamun's tomb contains a single chamber with paintings inside which are several large gilded wooden altars surrounding the red quartzite sarcophagus of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Stairs descend to a solid rock ledge leading to a sealed door.

The tomb is relatively small and was built during the Eighteenth Dynasty. It contains the pharaoh and his superimposed sarcophagus along with a disassembled chariot a bed and various pieces of furniture a distinctive gold mask and over 5,000 treasures most of which remain remarkably well-preserved. The tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun KV62 is located in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor Egypt. Discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter on 4 November 1922

Amanishakheto the Warrior Queen of Nubia reigned in the early 1st century. Her name written Amanishakheto in hieroglyphs means "Warrior Queen of Nubia" Along with her daughter she is the only African queen mentioned in the Bible who defeated the Roman army sent by the first Roman Emperor Augustus. Several monuments mentioning Amanishakheto have been found including in the Temple of Amun at Kawah on tablets from Meroe inscriptions found on the Banaga Vad and tablets from the ruins of the ancient city of Meroe.

Pharaoh Piye the Pharaoh of Kush began the Third Middle Period of Egyptian civilization with the establishment of the capitals Napata and Thebes the sacred mountain Jebel Barkal and was among the first group of ancient Egyptian pharaohs to rule a unified early Egypt. They revered and worshipped the god Amun. During the restoration of the Temple of Amun under Pharaoh Thutmose III Piede commissioned Egyptian stone carvers to rebuild it.

The Nubian Pyramids located in Sudan, were the site of royal burial grounds of the ancient Kingdom of Cush. These pyramids are steep and smaller than the pyramids in Egypt. Sudan has the largest number of pyramids in the world.

The tombs in Qustul are part of a civilization located on the east bank of the Nile River in Lower Nubia opposite Ballana near the Sudanese border. In the 1960s royal symbols similar to those of ancient Egypt or the Gyrzeh culture were used resembling the ancient Nubian civilization. Archaeological evidence from the Qustul tombs includes patterned bowls and pottery from the earliest powerful Nubian societies located between southern Egypt and northern Sudan flourishing between the Nile River and the ancient Nubian culture that inhabited Lower Nubia during the First Dynasties of Egypt around 5,800 years before modern Egypt.

Ancient Egypt has a centuries-long history revolving around a god of fertility. Around 2,700 years ago in what is now the Bay of Abukir far from Alexandria as a kingdom for centuries the region was also a center of international trade and a link to the Western world. Tonis-Heraklion was a thriving city an ancient Egyptian city that sank in the Mediterranean Sea near Alexandria during the late Pharaohs' era. The island of Heraklion and its central harbor collapsed the hardened clay quickly liquefied and buildings crumbled into the water. The massive waves at the time caused Tonis-Heraklion to sink beneath the Mediterranean Sea becoming mere ruins in the Bay of Abukir.

Thonis-Heracleion sank in Abu Qir Bay near Alexandria Egypt approximately 1,200 years ago. French underwater archaeologist Franck Goddio was exploring the submerged artifacts when he discovered the large granite statue of an Egyptian god or pharaoh which is over 3,000 years old.

Heraklion was formerly a village known as the Zoite settlement. The replaced Egyptian settlement occupies the area previously used by the indigenous Egyptians. It was roughly the size of Memphis the largest settlement in the Province of Thebaid. Unlike Nocrates the West Delta had Greek temples and the worship of Dionysus and Zeus. The city's population was also divided into various groups and tribes each with its own government. It has inscriptions and papyrus just like Greek cities.

A remarkable shipwreck was discovered underwater in the eastern harbor of Alexandria. This vessel often called a Nile party boat or ceremonial boat was associated with festivals and religious processions. The wreck is located near the sunken island of Antirodos part of Portus Magnus a Roman port with a large network of harbors. Recent underwater rock carvings of ancient Egyptian pharaohs were also discovered near Aswan by a joint French-Egyptian expedition. Modern technology was used to document the discovery of the Thalamagos ship.

The wreckage of an ancient Egyptian pleasure ship has been discovered underwater near the ancient harbor of Alexandria. The ship is approximately 35 meters long and 7 meters wide believed to have been a luxury vessel for the upper class. The discovery includes a remarkably well-preserved wooden structure located less than 50 meters from the Temple of Isis.

Archaeologists continue to collect artifacts from the sunken city of Alexandria a city once plagued by earthquakes and rising sea levels. The latest joint French-Egyptian expedition utilizes modern technology capable of providing crucial historical insights into the rulers of the New and Late Kingdoms. Underwater carvings depict pharaohs including Thutmose IV Amenhotep III Psomtic II and Apriar. Many other artifacts have been found submerged in the Nile River near Aswan.

The mastaba near the Great Pyramid of Giza is the site of the discovery of the famous Meidum Geese painting It is a rectangular building with a flat roof serving as a prototype for the pyramids Most mastabas are located in important royal cemeteries in northern Egypt and Meidum is also an archaeological site that served as a gathering place for nobles and pharaohs A lifelike and perfectly preserved statue of Mereruaca was found in the main chamber at the far end of the mastaba of the first pharaoh of the Sixth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt

Although most of the chambers in the mastaba were lavishly decorated it remained hidden from public view until its discovery by Jean-Jacques de Morgan of the Egyptian Antiquities Department in 1892. The statue of Mereruaca remains remarkably well-preserved and unique. This tomb in Saqqara comprises 32 chambers including the false door housing the statue of Mereruaca.

The walls of the burial chamber inside the Mastaba of Mereruka in the ancient cemetery of Saqqara Egypt feature carvings and hieroglyphs dating back to the 6th Dynasty during the reign of Pharaoh Teti around 2,340 BC.

The mastaba of Mereruaca depicts sculptors and carpenters at work telling stories of various creations ranging from pottery making and hunting to furniture making people rowing boats and wall carvings. Lush Nile riverside scenes from Egyptian swamp hunting scenes are depicted within the tomb of the goddess Mereruaca. The bas-reliefs portray everyday life and the environment of the Old Kingdom. The Mastaba of Mereruka located in the Saqqara burial grounds of Egypt is a large rectangular structure built around 2,310 BC.

This imagery appears to evoke a sense of passage from the altar in the tomb of Mereruka an influential nobleman and vizier of the 6th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Ramses II the ruler of Egypt during its golden age was considered one of the most powerful and famous kings of the Egyptian Empire. His formidable army was powerful enough to conquer Syria Nubia and the Hittite territories. He built numerous temples and monuments established a new capital and constructed fortified cities to protect routes from enemies. His reign resulted in a stalemate with neither side achieving a decisive victory. Ramesses II also built or restored other temples in Nubia such as the Beit el-Wali a house of priests and religious leaders. Surviving carvings depict the brutality of warfare in Nubia Syria and Libya are still present today.

The Abu Simbel Temple in Egypt was a temple built for King Ramses II. It is located in the Aswan region.

The Derr Temple is remarkable as it is the only rock temple in Nubia located on the east bank of the Nile River. This includes the stone pillars inside the temple which are not oriented towards the central axis as usual but rather face the entrance and the Gerf Hussein temple.
