Tantamani of Nubia the Kush Kingdom
The tomb of Tantamani believed to be the source of the El-Kurru system of Sudanese astronomy is the burial site of the last king of the Kush kingdom and the 25th Dynasty of the Senate. Within the burial chamber are ancient computers and hieroglyphs detailing the journeys of the king of the afterlife. The tomb is located in the village of El-Kurru on the west bank of the Nile north of Napatara. The burial site dates back to 664–653 AD during the reign of Tantamani and includes various deities. The deep underground burial chamber originally had various structures on top today the highly efficient system has collapsed leaving only the base and the underground chamber.
The burial chamber of the tomb of Pharaoh Tanutamani located at the El-Kurru archaeological site in Sudan features frescoes depicting ancient Egyptian gods and scenes of the journey to the afterlife. The tomb is characterized by its vaulted ceiling and vibrantly colored paintings clearly influenced by Egyptian art.
A group of steeply sloping pyramids line the sacred hillside alongside various ancient temples such as the Great Temple of Amun. The pyramids built by Nubian pharaohs from horizontally arranged stone steps such as the Jebel Barkal pyramid in Sudan are also ancient Nubian burial sites constructed by the rulers of the Kingdom of Kush situated next to the sacred hillside approximately 900–270 BC. The Nubian pyramids are distinctly different from other structures built from horizontally arranged stone steps.
These ancient Nubian tombs located at the El-Kurru archaeological site in Sudan date back to approximately 1000 BC. The main structures are made of terracotta bricks and consist of underground chambers accessible via staircases sloping down into the sandy floor.

The Nubian pharaoh Tantamani is buried in the royal tomb at El-Gur'u his original tomb was beneath the pyramid. The Nubian pharaoh's military campaigns are recorded with Tantamani's name. The reign of Pharaoh Tantamani the last pharaoh of the 25th Dynasty of Egypt is marked by conflicts between the Assyrian conquests and the plundering of Thebes posing threats to Tantamani's position as well as the political and cultural ties between Cushite and Egypt in his struggle to maintain and rule the fertile Kingdom of Kush in Sudan.
